Germain Labat is a Senior Trial Lawyer with the Drake Law Firm. He has been litigating and trying high-stakes cases in California and across the country for more than 26 years. Germain is a seasoned trial lawyer who has earned a reputation as a highly skilled, strategic and forceful advocate in the courtroom, having tried numerous jury and bench trials of complex and lengthy matters, including one of the longest bench trials in California history that spanned more than 300 trial days. He has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in countless multimillion-dollar cases, and has regularly obtained seven and eight figure verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Prior to joining the Firm, Germain practiced as an equity partner with multiple AmLaw 100 national and international law firms for two decades, representing both public and privately held companies and their executives across various sectors, including financial services, commercial real estate, energy, transportation, healthcare, cosmetics, food and beverage, retail, and technology.

Today, Germain’s practice is focused on litigation and trials of serious injury cases. He is dedicated to representing his injured clients vigorously, utilizing every legal tool available to achieve the best possible outcome for every client.  

Germain earned his law degree from Boston College, where he also served as a Notes Editor on the Boston College Law Review, and as Oralist and Brief Writer on the National Moot Court Team.

Germain is a first generation Angeleno and the son of Cuban exiles who sought asylum in the US in the 1960s in the wake of Fidel Castro’s seizure of power. He speaks fluent Spanish.
