Kamau Edwards launched his legal career after graduating from the University of California Los Angeles in 1998. He earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University College of Law in 2002 and later obtained an LL.M in Real Property Development from the University of Miami in Florida.
With over 19 years of experience, Kamau has served as First Chair in more than 30 civil trials and represented clients in over 500 civil matters across northern and southern California. He specialized in fraud and consumer law as a Senior Trial Attorney at the Knight Law Group from 2021 to 2023, and previously held a similar role at The Law offices of Jacob Emrani, focusing on personal injury matters.
From 2017 to 2020, Kamau worked as the HEAT attorney (HIGH EXPOSURE ATTORNEY) at the Los Angeles office of Hartsuyker, Stratman Williams-Abrego, handling high-exposure matters and overseeing a dedicated team.
Between 2004 and 2015, Kamau managed tort, employment, and real property matters at the San Francisco Legal Division of the Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
In addition to his legal career, Kamau served as a Commissioner for the City of Berkeley on both the Police Review and the Public Works Commission.
